| Again with the strange Roots experiment. A 3-track CD with each track being a variation of 'Jungle Taitei'. When you read the words 'jungle' don't think of hardcore jungle drum and bass but rather Jungle with the trees and birds and monkeys and Eye rubbing two sticks together to make audio fire. This is a nice track and really suits the theme of the compilation album it came from. It has a jungle atmosphere and some nice harmonies between the group members. Track 3's remix by Yann Tomita is very good and works well with this track. The track was originally created for a Japanese only compilation album called 'Atom Kids: A Tribute to the King "O.T."' It is a tribute album for the famous Japanese animator, Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy who in 1950 created the series of adventures of a white lion named Kimba in a classic called 'Jungle Taitei' - (Jungle King) |

| As you can see from the track times, the cd is rather short. It is not a mini album, it is not an E.P. It is a cd single, so make sure you dont get ripped off by over pricing record shops. Im not sure why this is a Super Roots cd as i think it really should be the 'Jungle Tattei' single. It is a nice track and worth hearing. It comes in a nice sturdy green card cover with a silver mirror shape on the front. Nice. Track 1 is also available on the compilation album mentioned above.. 'Atom Kids: A Tribute to the King "O.T." - Warner Bros. Japan - WPC6 8522 which also features exclusive tracks by: You, Ikuno Takagi (Jungle Smile), Genki Hitomi, Hiroyuki Nanba, Cosa Nostra, Kiyoshiro, Shonen Knife, Maki Nomiay, Dimitri From Paris, Ken Takagi, Cibo Matto, Haruomi Hosono, Kazufumi Miyazawa, Tadanobu Asano, Bloodthirsty Butchers, El-Malo, 80's Kinniku Shojotai, Anji, Yui Nishiwaki, Sean Lennon, Chocolate, Motoharu Sano. There is also a second remix album called 'Atom Kids Remix: 21 Century Boys And Girls' - Warner Bros. Japan - WPC6 10008 This contains a longer version of track 2, Eye's DJ Let's TRY & D.I.Y. - Drum Machine Mix. At least this way there is an alternative solution to getting hold of the tracks on the Super Roots 8 cd. |
