Vision Creation Newsun sticker
| The awesome and beautiful box-set of the Boredoms 'Vision Creation Newsun' LP. This is probably only going to be available from Japan and a limited edition print, but this is definitely worth every effort it takes to get one, even with the prices for importing. Inside you will find the all important two CD's with lots of new material. Anyone who got to see the Boredoms live in Japan around December 98 will have heard the Vision Creation Newsun track allready. And it is finally released here in it's studio and live versions in 99. Aswell as the two cd's in its excellantly designed gatefold sleeve, there is also a sticker and a t-shirt. The white t-shirt has a white Boredoms logo on it so it is better viewed in ultraviolet light (show it off in a club perhaps?) and most intriguing of all is the noise the box makes when you take the lid off. A hole in the box allows light onto a little sound gizmo that plays a 40 second sample sounding like electronic swamp frogs. Superb stuff. Obviously, the most important thing is the music, and this album wont dissapoint any fan of the Boredoms. The longest track and theme on both cd's is Vision Creation Newsun which has a similar quality to Super AE tracks but with a sun worshiping feel to it. The live version on cd2 being the longest. Each track blends into the next to keep a constant flow of music throughout the album. As far as I know, cd2 won't be available any other way. Its basically a 3 track EP ( If you can call 42 minutes an EP ) with the main feature being track 2's 35 minute live track recorded in 1998 at the Outdoor Free Concert in Osaka. Track 1 is a mad peice of music, it sounds like a broken ( sorry... remixed! ) version of track 2 of the album with the sound overlays in tact but the main track reduced from 5:22min to 1:28min. Online shop Forced Exposure records had this qoute from the Boredoms - "the first tune of the bonus tracks CD is what we gained from the second number in the original album which data inside the computer was accidently started running on the first day of a new year in Mayan callender (7th June '98)." Track 3 is more on the ambient side with birds tweeting and soft vocals and loose percussion, it sounds like a remix of track 3 of the album but without the drum pattern.. |

| This is the EP version of VCN, released before the full length box set. Track 1 'Suncidal cendancies' is a different mix of VCN found on the full length album. Track 2 morphs into an excellant ambient drift of electronic sounds. And track 3 is a live recording from 11th Aug 1999, recreating the live show versions played in 98. Its a storming session, and different from the live version found on disk 2 of the box set. |

| The track listing is exactly the same as disc 1 of the VCN box set. The cd comes in a nice little card gatefold sleeve, like a mini LP cover, with photo's on the front and back and artwork by Eye on the inside. There is also a little pull-out poster. (see below) | ||
